Over the last 40 years Linda Babb has gardened in a wide variety of growing
zones and climates from the nearly ideal conditions of Southern California’s
zone 10 up to the coasts of Oregon and Washington (where the soil is almost perfect)
and over to Montana’s Rocky Mountains in chilly zone 4 where temperatures can drop
to minus 40 degrees. She addresses the issues of different climate zones, varying
soil types, altering pH, sowing/harvesting schedules, and sunlight/day lengths.
